Entomologists and farmers are currently my two favorite kinds of people. They both give me such interesting presents!
Last year was a good one for Painted Lady butterflies, and one of the spider webs in the greenhouse at the Northern Plains Botanic Garden managed to catch quite a selection. Since the spider apparently died before wrapping them, my entomologist friend saved them all for me.
With all the classes I am taking and attempts to learn things I don’t know how to do yet, I have apparently been giving people the idea that I don’t think I know how to do art. Or don’t think I am any good. Or something. In the midst of yet another class where I am pretty sure my brain cells are going to explode if I try to shove in any further information, I totally understand why I give that impression, however it isn’t true. I am trying to share my learning experiences, but other kinds of art I am pretty comfortable with.
To prove it, and to give my tired brain a rest, I reverted to painting in a way I already know how to do. My portrait of a painted lady.
I only have 20 more of them left to do something with. 😉

thank you!
Lovely!
Never apologize for wanting to learn new things! And sometimes great things happen when we stretch to learn something new that is not all ready in our repertoire….
Who was it that said great art was a series of one mistake after another? 🙂
Beautiful!
thank you!
