Practical Kindness
A Community story sharing project
People want to help other people, and let’s face it—it feels good when we do! There are so many different ways we can help each other, but it can be hard to know what kinds of things to offer. By sharing our stories we gather examples of how to support the people in our lives. Let’s learn together and make the world a kinder place—one small action at a time.

A Cup of Resistance
Resist! Because equality should be everybody's cup of tea.
A fundraiser for Planned Parenthood North Central States.
Why Planned Parenthood?
When Planned Parenthood North Central States participated in a local giving day, the organization was left out of all the special promotions associated with the event. Further, Planned Parenthood North Central States was the only organization required to use a disclaimer stating that the hosts did not support them. Despite meeting all the same criteria of the other groups participating, they were held to a different standard. As an organization committed to promoting equality, they have chosen to no longer participate in this initiative.
This fundraiser was created to help supplement what they could have earned during that initiative, as half of all profits were donated to Planned Parenthood North Central States.
"Where there's tea, there's hope." -Sir Arthur Wing Pinero
The community was invited to take a needed art restorative with this print of tansy in a teacup. Often used as an abortive agent in medieval times through the early twentieth century, this toxic plant also symbolizes resistance in the Victorian Language of Flowers. At a time when the political climate is against sexual health and awareness “A Cup of Resistance” is a symbol that we will continue to work for a time when equity is a reality.
A reproduction of an original watercolor painting by nature artist Brandi Malarkey, this print was only available by pre-order for a limited time. Orders closed on April 6th, 2020. Each print is 8″x10″ in size, unframed, and presented on high-quality, archival paper.
Edible Forest
A demonstration orchard started in 2019 at Yunker Farm in north Fargo, the Edible Forest is a project of the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society (NPBGS) designed to be a living library to showcase and provide learning opportunities about fruits and nuts that can be grown in the North Dakota climate.
The Freeing of Northshield
How many people does it take to create a single comic book? More than you'd think! Lots of work, lots of fun, and we are never doing that again! Probably. Maybe. 🙂
Rainburh and Ia's Bardic Assault
Combining common Christmas carols and a lack of musical skill taken to artistic heights, this album and songbook take fundraising efforts in a whole new direction.
