Today was the first day that it really started to feel like spring, although it still doesn’t smell like spring. Since it is supposed to get a little warmer this weekend, and all my friends in surrounding states are buried under recent snow, I won’t complain. However, the past month or so has been rather difficult for everyone.
Periodically I completely forget how to paint. Usually it is in February. This year I managed to plod through February at quarter speed, but still painting. Apparently this year I forgot how to paint in the last few weeks while being despondent over the lack of spring. I don’t get too depressed to paint, I just paint very badly and end up throwing away a great deal of paper.
This is the only painting I managed to complete that wasn’t utter rubbish. While I admit that it is not the most fabulous painting in the world (and the first attempt ended up in the garbage), I will maintain that the scanner also flattened it quite a bit and it looks a great deal better in person.

Fortunately, I did make progress of a kind, as I have been prepping photography. I have a display rack for my cards, and have been experimenting with getting nice prints of some of my photos. Lookie, lookie!
I was hoping to summon spring by immersing myself in bugs and flowers. I don’t know if it worked, but it is still happy to look at.
I may not be a photographer yet, but they look pretty snazzy, so once I grow up and become a real photographer, I might look utterly fabulous. 😉
My new photo lens is still being standoffish, but I have hopes for when we finally come to an understanding. I am getting closer. Don’t you think it will be fun once I finally get it somewhat figured out?
